Which Smart-Phone: An Android Phone or Blackberry?

I have owned both and currently in my office I have partners that own blackberries. I have also owned an iphone.

I see no advantages to the RIM platform except perhaps the keyboard and utility/productivity focused platform (i.e. If all you do is respond to emails all day RIM is an excellent device). If the touchscreen keyboard is concerning there are several phones like the Droid that have a keyboard as well but I doubt they will match any RIM device.

I think touchscreen input is just something to learn and get used to and once you do you will never go back because the advantages of touchscreen and Android.

Android has a much larger ecosystem, a lot more applications that are well built and flexibility that RIM cannot offer. For me it would be a very easy decision - and if you look at recent android numbers many would agree.

I have a blackberry and I have tried out the android. Both are GREAT phones but I don't really like the touch screen of the android. The blackberry freezes up alot and tends to be slow at times, where the android is extremely fast and has an amazing camera.

The camera on the blackberry isnt the best.

I like touchscreen and qwerty if android has that its fine.

Normally the question goes, "Android or iOS", so this is a breath of fresh air.

Coming from somebody who has used both a Blackberry and an Android Device, I would say it entirely depends on your personal preference.

The blackberry is first and foremost a phone, with emphasis more on the social connectivity through BBM. If you wanted to do anything outside the stock feature of the Blackberry, you may find the Blackberry App World to be very under-featured.

However, in it's defence, the blackberry has THE best QWERTY keyboard on any device to date, and that is why they continue to sell.

The Android Phone however, is for people that want more from their phone. The ability to integrate with social networking sites easily, or simple to play games on the move. Android offers unparalleled customisation.

As such, it really depends on your personal preference. But for now, we over at GizmoFlux prefer the Android Phones.

I recently purchased an Android phone to replace my stolen Blackberry Curve 8530. I was going to replace it with another Blackberry but decided for a few reasons to go with the Evo. The Blackberry is a great phone, but as ChassyCrunkCakes said below, it freezes up a lot and tends to be slow at times.

The screen is quite a bit smaller on the Blackberry and the camera doesn't work as well. There are a lot more applications available for Android phones but it doesn't seem to be as user-friendly as Blackberry. I am happy with my phone though and am glad I chose Android over BB.

Based on the key features for me and Android phone is the best smart phone.

I'd go for the Samsung Galaxy S which is an android phone - latest hi tech with bells 'n whistles for a reasonable price. Shop around though... I have an iPhone which I consider 'remarkably user-friendly' ... GD, Perth Au.

I personally like the RIM Blackberry platform, but admittedly I have never even used an Android phone. Android is open source, powered by the big boys at Google and is on track to take down the iPhone OS in a few short years.

Android phones are definitely a bigger hitter as more and more manufacturers are using their OS for their latest phones.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
