According to a posting by "roots_and_bark" at city-data. Com, Oregon is the most livable place because of the "clean air, thick forests, cheap living, and eco-conscious communities. " Happy New Year!

I was born and raised in LA, and I hate that place and will never go near it again if I can help it, but spent 5 very happy years in the Bay Area. I did just move to Eugene Oregon, seeking cheaper rent and a more rural environment.
I found this page because I too am trying to figure out where I want to buy a little land. Eugene is very hip, beautiful, and a lot cheaper, but I do miss the Bay a lot... and my dream home will be in a place even more rural than Eugene, maybe just outside, but definitely somewhere in either Oregon or Northern California. All in all, I highly recommend the clean air, thick forests, cheap living, and eco-conscious communities or Oregon.(well, all I can speak for is Eugene right now.
Some Oregon areas are downright conservative extremists I hear) And Portland is way cheaper to buy a house than anywhere in California. I just looked, and all the houses I found were around 300,000 or less. So yeah, Oregon rocks, Nor Cal rocks but is expensive, So Cal is my worst nightmare.(no offense) Good luck with your search." -end of quote.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
