The 2011 Academy Awards have produced a thoroughly screened 120 nominees in all categories, including short films and documentary films. Movies that were shown in the last year were mostly competitive and quality films, I bet the board members of this award-giving body had a hard time selecting the best of the best films to put in each category. Moreover, as for the Best Art Direction category, there 5 were lucky nominees and amongst the best who were nominated for this category.
The nominees were: Alice in Wonderland - Production Design by Robert Stromberg and Set Decoration by Karen O'Hara. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1 - Production design by Stuart Craig and the set decoration by Stephenie McMillan. Inception - Production design by Guy Hendrix Dyas and the set decoration by Larry Dias and Doug Mowat.
The King's Speech - Production design by Eve Stewart and the set decoration by Judy Farr. True Grit - Production design by Jess Gonchor and the set decoration by Nancy Haigh These were the best 5 nominees that stood out for the 2011 Academy Awards. I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
