You are right, it should make no difference what his orientation is, talent is talent. The issue is that this is how he (and others) identify themselves. They are the ones that make this an issue.
If no one knew, no one would care either way but the wear their orientation as a badge and that is how they will be identified. He will not be known as a great singer but as a great gay singer. Apparently, it made a difference to him and that is why he "came out".
We are living in a time where people are obsessed with being catagorized or grouped. I don't know if it engenders a sense of belonging but these labels are what is dividing us as a nation. We are focusing on the differences and not the similarities.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
