There is no "Artist of the Year" category at the Grammy's, so I'm assuming you mean "Best NEW Artist. " The nominees for Best New Artist are: Justin Bieber Drake Florence and the Machine Mumford and Sons Esperanza Spalding I've never even listened to Justin Bieber, whose name I see and hear on a daily basis, but it's my guess that, despite his apparent popularity, especially (it seems) with the "younger crowd," he won't get the award. My pick is Mumford & Sons.
For me it's Lady Gaga. The lad is nothing but a mini God here in Nigeria. She is the best.
Don't say I didn't tell you...................................
If they'd do it posthumously, Michael Jackson. He died in 2009, but.. "It may be unseemly to say, but it's sadly true: Michael Jackson might be worth more dead than alive. Thanks in part to a lucrative new record deal with Sony Music that extends through 2017 and the most successful concert film of all time, Billboard estimates that MJ Inc.
Has generated at least $1 billion in revenue in the year following his death. Through interviews with industry experts and our own number-crunching, Billboard examines the various music-based revenue streams that have flowed into the Jackson estate in the past 12 months. MICHAEL JACKSON'S TOP 50 BILLBOARD HITS MICHAEL JACKSON: IT'S A WONDERFUL AFTERLIFE Music Sales Value: $429 million Since his death, Jackson has sold approximately 9 million albums in the United States, while the Jackson 5 and the Jacksons have sold about 800,000 units, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

" MJ's even going to be performing at this year's Grammys, too: "We've been hearing rumblings for quite some time that Adam Lambert could be among the performers on the 2011 Grammy album -- a bit of an annual tradition for the Academy. Now, we can finally confirm that the moment is here. You can see the full album cover for this year's album to the left, and it contains a number of big songs including those by Cee-Lo Green, Lady Gaga, the "Glee" cast, and a couple of Adam's chief rivals in the Male Pop Vocal Performance category -- late "King of Pop" Michael Jackson and crooner Michael Buble.
This album will be released on January 27, but you can already pre-order a copy over at Amazon. Unfortunately, this does not in any way verify that Adam could be performing at the big awards on February 13.(Lady Gaga is heavily speculated to be performing new song "Born This Way" at the event.)
