To suggest that a country can legitimately steal land, drive the current inhabitants out of their country and force poverty and apartheid on those who remain because their ancestors happened to live there 2000 years ago is outrageous. The Israeli's have driven out of their homes and lands around 4.5 million Palestinians and their descendants since 1948. On 11 December 1948 the United Nations General Assembly resolved: "that refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbour should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date."
This resolution has been annually re-affirmed by the UN since that date and ignored by Israel Why should the world support a nation who refuse to allow people return who they themselves have driven from their their lands in the last 60 years. Israel deny the rights of those they have done the same to. We are talking about 4.5 million people (Palestinians) surely they have a much more legitimate claim to the stolen land than Israel.
President Obama recognises this as do the governments in the majority of the rest of the world. Under your premise every native American should be able to evict by force if necessary you (I am presuming you are an American) from your home, drive you out of the country. Their claim surely is stronger than Israel it only happened a few centuries ago.
Then of course Mexico should be allowed to drive all Americans out of all the stolen land now called Texas, they were driven out in 1848, a mere 150 years ago. The number of people driven out of their lands in the last couple of thousand years could fill a history book, hundreds if not thousands of examples. Following this premise to it's conclusion is a farce.
Why is it that those who blindly support Israel use an argument that if it concerned any people but the Jews they would certainty oppose it. Or are you telling me that you would support the examples above? But even worse than this is that they supporters of Israel refuse to look at what is really happening to the Palestinian people.
To acknowledge any rights or show any compassion to the 1.4 million, who live in 58 recognised refugee camps in Jordan, Lebanon, the Syrian Arab Republic, the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem. Who would starve to death if it wasn't for charity organisations, spending my money and yours. They never speak a a word to criticise Israel for building what is in effect the biggest prison camp in the world.
Eight years into the construction of the Apartheid Wall, over 60% has already been built to ghettoize communities, threatening over 260,000 people with displacement and stealing land and water resources. They never speak up for those Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza who live in abject poverty and under a form of apartheid . These people HAVE lived on this land for the last 2000 years, what about their claims and rights?
I find it tragic that a people who have throughout history been on the receiving end of so much injustice and inhumanity use a 2000 year old claim to justify handing out the same treatment to others. That somehow you can use the word "terrorist" and justify injustice and inhumanity on to all the men women and children of that race. Why is this?
Do you consider they should have more rights than the rest of us, that they are in some way better than us, in which I include you, unless you are Jewish? You can see the evidence of all the claims I make in the links below, the first shows veteran Republican Congressman Paul Findley telling you it his happening. There are also the links include sites written by Jews.
Will you bother to look at the evidence or do you not care as they are only "Palestinians" Will you refuse to see the evidence just as many Germans did in the 1940's because after they were only "Jews". Finally there is a President in the White House who is willing to see the evidence and attempt to do something about it. Without the support of American Israel would not have been able to do this Open your eyes, see the facts or have the courage to admit that you you consider Jews are above the laws which govern all the rest of us, superior in fact and that you believe the Palestinians are an inferior race and it is legitimate to treat them as such.
I think that with you're way of thinking and positing the argument that some races are superior to others the Palestinians are more justified in thinking that you're a terrorist rather than the other way round. So, Churchill was a known racist! Is that meant to add strength to your argument?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
