Who is Merlin Olsen?

Merlin Olsen was a former American football player of the NFL and an actor. He played for 15 years with the Los Angeles Rams and was elected to the Pro Bowl in 14 of those said seasons. He appeared as Jonathan Garvey on Little House on the Prairies TV series.

Then after leaving the said series he starred in his won NBC drama entitled "Father Murphy" as a traveling priest. He died on March 11, 2010 at an age of 69 of lung cancer. He was diagnosed in 2009 with mesothelioma and filed a lawsuit against NBC Studios, NBC Universal, and 20th Century Fox for exposing him to asbestos.
