I tried to change the topic to Kindle, thinking it would draw people who understood what you are talking about, but you changed it back to visual arts and without an image, I can't even picture it in my mind. Maybe its an illustration. Ask Amazon.

There's a kindle discussion category on the Amazon website.

Sorry, it was the moderator who changed it back to visual arts. I still think you might put up an image to at least give us an idea of what you're talking about OR better yet try the Kindle forum on the main Amazon site. amazon.com/forum/kindle?_encoding=UTF8&*... com/forum/kindle?

St Jerome in his Study, c. 1514 By Albrecht Dürer (German, 1471-1528),Engraving, 9-3/4 x 7-1/4 inches, 23.9 x 18.6 cmAlbrecht Dürer is known as one of the great artists of the Renaissance. He traveled all over Europe and especially studied in Florence Italy and is accredited with transitioning German art from the Middle Ages to the Rennaisance.

Jerome in s Study is one of his most important prints. Domenicus Rottenhammer (German, active c.1594-1640) painted an impression of Dürer’s engraving around 1600, with transparent washes and body colors, highlighted with gold and signed it "D.R. "Kunstsammlungen der Veste Coburg, Germany Here is Rottenhammer's color rendition: jpg.

I had to see it which meant I had to find it online since I don't own a kindle. Next time take a photo with your camera and post it here so we can at least know what you're talking about.

Thank you so much! It became an itch I could neither reach nor scratch. Your explanation and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I'm definitely going to participate on this site. Thanks again! Cozumel 4 months ago .

You're welcome. It was kind of fun searching first for the Kindle page saver, finding the work and then noticing the symbolist images like the cardinals hat, the "Vanitas" religious context of the skull and the humanist/intellectual persona of the character. It's filled with hints that lead directed to the St.Jerome.

And that work was also done as a woodcut which suggests to me I saw the woodcut version once. I'm familiar Albrecht Dürer and know he was apprenticed to an engraver, but he's not one of my passionate favorites. However, I could have answered this a lot faster had I had the image.

People use this topic to post questions about art - most seem like phony questions but people rarely post an image of the work which makes the topic pretty useless overall. Hope you return.

I'm talking about the drawing on the Kindle screensaver. It's a balding man at a desk with a dog lying on its side and a lion in front. It looks to be medieval in style, like Leonardo da Vinci or maybe some other figure in history.

For some reason it's driving me nuts, I look up on google an all they have to say is "Man at table with lion in foreground. I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
