Robert Redford won an Oscar in 1981 for Ordinary People, but as a director, not as an actor. He has been nominated for a Best Actor Oscar only once, for The Sting, in 1974. I've always felt that he was underrated as an actor because of his charm and good looks.
Now that Redford has largely retired from acting, it's unlikely that he will ever win an Oscar for a performance. Redford gave particularly great performances in The Sting, for which he won an Oscar nomination, and for all of the following films: The Horse Whisperer Out of Africa The Natural All The President's Men and my personal favorite, Three Days of the Condor Any of these roles could have won him an Oscar. It's a shame he never did.
He also gave a great performance in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, but he was overshadowed by Paul Newman in that film, in which Newman gave one of the most memorable performances of his career. More.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
