Salvador Dali is my first thought. But as of yet, I cannot locate this piece on exhibit at the Met. I'd also guess Matisse or Gokin based on style, but I'll see what I can dig up...any hints...? Edit: I am working on your question, will take you up on the offer of the higher tip if I have any success, so thanks that does entice me to keep looking.
If it is Dali - he was prolific over 1500 pieces of work, and that's if it was him. I will be able to look into this further in an hour or two, so if anyone else has any luck, super. I'll post a comment to this response when I have information to add as my edit time is running out.Ciao.
