LONDON – Taylor Swift and No Doubt will help bring an American accent to this year's MTV European Music Awards in Frankfurt, Germany. Swift, whose tune "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" hit the top spot in the iTunes chart in 32 countries in its first week of release. The Californian band No Doubt are expected to bring its west coast "ska style to the EMA festivities," organizers said.
No Doubt is back on the scene after releasing its first album in 11 years, Push and Shove. Also headlining the evening of European nod giving will be the British global stadium rock band Muse. The band's last album hit the number one spot in 19 countries and it has chalked up more than 15 million album sales to date.
The guitar led trio is expected to play a track from the sixth studio album, The 2nd Law. Hosted by supermodel, entrepreneur and German-born presenter Heidi Klum, the 19th annual awards show will broadcast live from Frankfurt’s Festhalle Nov. 11. It will air on MTV channels around the world, and is sponsored by partners including Microso "I’ve always wanted to go to the EMA, because you hear about the spectacle of it, and how everyone just goes all out for their performances.
To be nominated for five EMAs was the most exciting feeling, and I was absolutely blown away. Said the band: "Everyone is in top form. It's going to be an amazing time and a chance for us to show to the world why we're so proud of our new album.
And it's always awesome to do what we love most, which is play live. For Muse it is a return to play at the awards. "See you all in Frankfurt for a great night of music," said Muse.
Swiftis one of the leading nominees with five nominations this year in the running for nods including ; best female, best pop, best look, best live and best world stage. Museis nominated forbest live and best rock while No Doubt will be battling for the best pop award.
