Yes, I would be surprised. Over the last several years, the WWE has built The Undertaker's streak into one of the major cornerstones of Wrestlemania. It has been billed as big, or at times even bigger, then the two world championship matches.
Just take a look at the general question that are routinely asked in this section. Even though Wrestlemania is a good ten or 11 months away, we are already seeing questions asking who The Undertaker is going to face at next year's Wrestlemania. Because this is the case, because the streak has been hyped blown up into the be-all-and-end-all of both The Undertaker's career and Wrestlemania, the level of opponents that he faces from here on out (and being realistic here, The Undertaker has one, maybe two, Wrestlemania appearances left in him) have to be very high profile.
I mean, how can you top the last two years with Shawn Michaels? The level of hype generated by both of those matches, but particularly this year's, was so high that almost anything below top notch will seem like a step down. The way I see it right now, the only person in the WWE that is a suitable fit for The Undertaker's streak, regardless of whether he wins or loses, is John Cena.
He is the biggest star in the company and the one with the deepest connections to mainstream fans. It doesn't matter if you love him or hate him (personally, I'm a big fan), when you look at Cena objectively, he's the only one left to face The Undertaker. Chris Jericho is step down from Michaels, Triple H has been done before and even with a very hard push, guys like Ted Dibiase, Kofi Kingston, Sheamus or John Morrison wouldn't have that rock star name value that John Cena does.
Win or lose, the streak ends with John Cena. Now, as for Ted Dibiase, I think that in large part you're right, he is in line for a big push. He has all the tools, including an impressive pedigree, although I think that his talking skills need to really improve before he breaks through to the main events on a regular basis.
Other than that though, I find him to be very solid. The WWE is clearly high on him, so I certainly would expect to see world championships and PPV main events in his future.
I don't doubt John Cena cause lookin at the current state of the roster right now. Who do they really have that can hold the weight of a wrestlemania streak match except john cena. Batista already lost.
Triple lost to him. Maybe Sheamus since they giving him such a push wit john cena but nobody else could really pull that kinda I don't know responsibility for that match. Esp after shawn michaels.
Ted dibiase would probably have a good match wit undertaker, but maybe 28 if either one of them is still around he would have the status to take him on then for the streak.
We will also see Lesnar vs HHH 2 because HHH wants to get his win against Lesnar. If a triple threat ought to happen then Lesnar would most likely face Undertaker. I don't see it happening though.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
