Who thinks the nonsense about .9 cents should be dropped from gasoline prices in the US, and rounded up or down?

I agree That fraction is supposed to make the price seem like it’s one cent cheaper than what it really is. I remember when gas cost less than a dollar (ok that means I'm old) and that . 9 made a difference but with the price of around $3.00 a gallon, it makes no sense and no one if fooled by it.

I couldn't agree more but neither can I get fired up about it. It's just one of those stupid annoying things that will never be fixed. When talking gas prices I generally just drop the 0.9, for all the difference it makes to the price of a tankful..

Absolutely.. I completely agree with you. BTW, merchants tell me that the 2.99 items DO sell better than 3.00 items. Maybe it's a flaw in our programming.

I just can't keep throwing $$ down the tank. You would just choose the cheapest from 3.00 over 3.01 and 3.02. You would do the same. I would do the same.

I drove by a 3.05 and a 3.09 this morning to a 2.99 do it yourself and let me tell you it was cold. But I know I only saved $1 to $2 buy doing this today. And if it's only a one cent you save .40 to .80 cents on a fill and if you fill say 6 times a month for a 4.80 savings that will still buy me milk.

All I know is gas is way too expensive We need to put a stop to this. Do you know that people in saudi arabia drive around all day and waste gas. When asked why they stated why not petroleum is so cheap.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
