Who were the Titans in Greek Mythology? Why are the Titans still referred to even today? (Tennessee Titans, The Titanic, etc)?

Here's a great game I played with the family a few tings. It was very "edutaining" to me.
The Greek titans were: * Gaea * Uranus * Cronus * Thea * Prometheus * Epimetheus * Atlas * Metis * Dione * Rhea * Oceanus * Tethys * Hyperion * Mnemosyne * Themis * Iapetus * Coeus * Crius * Phoebe The names (and variants) are still used today because they were very influential spirtitual figures back in ancient times.

Even in the recent several hundred years, we still back "respect" to them as sort of "ficticious superheroes". Some of these names became planet names or other scientfic names. The names or variants thereof became people names, too, such as Dione/Dionne, Rhea, and Phoebe.

The word "Titan" is from a Greek word "τιτανος," that means white clay, white men. Here's a cool link with a good description of the history of the titans. http://edweb.sdsu.edu/people/bdodge/scaffold/GG/titan.html.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
