Yes, especially when camping out. One time I made camp at 12,000 feet in the High Sierra and the stars were so clear and so many, I felt I could see them moving and felt like I had to clutch the ground to keep from falling off. The darkest night ever was at Trinity Lake in Northern California, there were so many stars I couldn't even recognize the constellations anymore.
When I look at the night sky, I feel like I am looking back into time. If you know where to look, on a dark night free of any light pollution, you can faintly see the Andromeda Galaxy with your naked eye. To realize that the photons from there hitting your pupils have been traveling for 2.7 million years at the speed of light just to get here ... is astounding!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
