Doormat" is a very interesting and unexpected rhyme for "that." Nicely done! On the other hand, "guess" and "protest" don't rhyme.
"Same" and "pain" don't rhyme. It's fine to use near-rhyme in a poem if it's done for a discernible reason, but in this poem, all the other rhyme pairs really do rhyme, so these two pairs seem to be just mistakes.
Not bad. There are lines that are a bit awkward, but I'm guessing you see them at least as clearly as I do. Fix 'em, and you'll murder the critical among your friends.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
