Hitler didn't just kill Jews. He killed anyone he believed was not up to scratch for his new Aryan civilization - so basically, he also killed blacks, homosexuals, gypsies, people with physical and mental impairments, people of certain religious, ethnic or political associates (not just Jews)...the list goes on. He was just famous for killing Jews, but he killed a lot more groups of people than them solely.
People are also mistaken that he was bad from the start. Before Hitler entered politics, Germany had been bombed to oblivion after WWI, and people were starving, desperate, without hope or morale; any former glory of the nation (I use the word "glory" as it was quite a powerful empire in Europe prior to WWI) was left to nothing but rubble. Even though Hitler was already habouring prejudice and a chip on his shoulder, he acutally started out with good intentions for his rebuilding the country.
It's just that - like most men with power - the more power he acquired, the more batshit crazy he got. Why is Hitler, Nazis and the nightmare that was the Third Reich such a popular topic in school? Well, I guess a lot of it has to do with the fact that he was on of the main sparks of the fire that was WWII.
As previous posters have mentioned, the millions of other massacres and holocausts that have taken place over history (Stalin, Mao Zedong, the numerous Asian and S/E Asian ethnic cleansing regimes, Armenians, Azerbaijanis, witch-hunts, Spanish Inquisitions, basically any European invasion against any Indigenous population, Roman-Pagan massacres of Christians, Roman-Christian massacres of Pagans, holy crap the list goes on...) don't affect "Western" countries as directly, as recently, and as prominently as that one did. But I agree, there are plenty of other holocausts that took place (i.e. Stalin and Mao) that made Hitler look like a boyscout.
Not sure what the end of your question was going, I'm assuming it has something to do with Zionist/Jewish control over virtually everything? Not really sure about that. Possible?
But then again, American politics isn't really my forte, so I can't really comment on that. My only wish is that people would stop getting so shitty because they cannot differentiate between Hitler's Third Reich terminology/iconography/etc. and the original custom it was borrowed from. I will note two different examples: 1.
When I was in Rome, taking photos with guys dressed up as "Roman soldiers" outside the Colosseum, a middle-age Jewish couple (I recognised them as Jewish, as the man was wearing a kippah) started having a go at one of the "soldiers", because his Roman hail was too similar to the Nazi "Heil" (and proceeded to demostrate the difference of the straight arm and stiff hand). With my partner (who was a local) translating the confrontation (they were making quite a fuss and attracting quite a bit of attention), I couldn't help but laugh. The poor "soldier" was pretty dumbfounded.
Apparently no one taught this couple that much of Hitler's Third Reich campaign (i.e. Gestures/iconography/architecture) was copied off the Roman Empire. The "Heil" was originally a Roman gesture, and they decided to ignore the historical context of the situation; thus scolding the poor soldier for being ignorant, when really, they were the ignorant ones.
2. Multiple situations in which I have observed Jewish folk freak-out when they notice a swastika ANYWHERE. Keep in mind that these aren't the actual Nazi swastikas (turned on their side and often bordered with a circle), but the original Hindu swastikas from which Hitler stole it from (among a few other Hindu bits and pieces...The word "Aryan", anyone?).
Meanwhile, poor Hindus are either left wondering what the hell their problem is, or cop a barrage of abuse from them because they have swastikas all around their home/temple/etc. When the Hindu tries to explain that it's their religion, they are further steamrolled with accusations of anti-Semitism and Hitler being their "religion"....I wish I were joking about this last one particularly. Alas, I am not. It actually happened to a very close friend of mine who is Hindu.
People need to get educated about history and be mindful of historical contexts, whether they are Jewish or not. Ok, I'm not sure where I was going with my rant, but it's over now.
For some reason Russia always seems to get away with the ignorance of others. Most people don't seem to know that Russia starved to death millions of Jews before World War II. That part of the reason why Israel is here today is because so many Jews were already trying to escape Russia and make a new home.
World War II was just the icing on the cake. Also, if America handled terrorists the way Russia does, the UN would sanction us. When terrorists held hostages in a theater in Moscow, they were killed and then buried in shallow graves with dead pig carcasses.
Russia gets away with it. Edit: "Tops the cake" Are you talking to me? If so, I take it you really have no clue what I'm talking about.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
