Why am I given the error “StartTag: Invalid element name” when parsing this XML file with a DTD?

I think you need to specify if the attribute is #REQUIRED or #IMPLIED or #FIXED "Default_Value" for your DTD to be valid. You should also have! DOCTYPE .

The document basically has "catalog" as the root tag with child tags of "movie" followed by one or more "actor". Each of these child tags further contains more child tags. I was supposed to make a DTD for this based on some rules given, but it is just rejecting whatever I put at the beginning of the doucment.

Any help? Don't use w3schools. Find a better validator. – skaffman Feb 26 at 15:45 I am using XMLSpy as well, and it gives the error: Unable to load external DTD subset via 'file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/Administrator/Desktop/.../catalog.

Dtd'. 'Well-formedness violation: Character '>' is grammatically unexpected' – Johnny Feb 26 at 15:51 Both w3schools and XML Spy are terrible validators. Use validome.org/grammar – skaffman Feb 26 at 15:56 Thanks for the help!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
