Lately, I've noticed that some specific questions that are being asked here in Askville, may have originated on other sites, such as Yahoo! Answers! AnswerBag, AskMetafilter...etc...How do you feel about it?

Depends on who is re-posting the question... The person who first asked the question on the other site or someone re-asking another person’s question. If it is the latter reason, are they doing it just for the Quest Coins? It is also possible that the person asking the question that was asked on another site simply asked the question because they genuinely want to know and never saw the question on any other site.
Due to the sheer number of participants, some questions just get ask a lot as well or the first time the question got asked, the answers were not sufficient. Askville is new and getting everyone to understand the underlying ’Ethics’ of it will take time; but then there will always be those who just don’t care. There is a sort of ’copyright’ with these questions; however, that is not actually stated anywhere.
If the person re-posting a question on Askville is the same one who first posted it on the other site(s), I will give them the benefit of the doubt. If not the person who originally posted it on the other site(s), then enter into the discussion on the re-posted question and ask them why they are using someone else’s question. Copyright Law does cover "original works of authorship" meaning that the first person to put it into writing (or create it) owns the copyright whether or not a Copyright was filed.
It is generally legal for you to use, or make someone else’s work or design to give it away as a gift or to keep for yourself. It is not acceptable to ’sell’ that work for profit without the permission of the Copyright owner. Since just by asking the question on Askville quest coins are earned, doesn’t that mean that ’profit’ has been made?
If the person re-posting was not the originator of the question, did they get permission from the originator? ;-) I do not think that Askville is all that stickler to the laws and rules; but it does pose food for thought GadgetGypsy's Recommendations Copyright Law Used from: $7.30 Copyright Plain & Simple Amazon List Price: $12.99 Used from: $5.95 Average Customer Rating: 5.0 out of 5 (based on 4 reviews) Internet & Computer Ethics for Kids: (and Parents & Teachers Who Haven't Got a Clue. ) Amazon List Price: $15.95 Used from: $1.94 Average Customer Rating: 4.5 out of 5 (based on 3 reviews) Just for Smiles & Giggles I have added these books ;-J .
Maybe the askers wanted more answers than just 5.... Maybe it was something that the person felt they weren't getting good answers for, and they wanted to see if anybody had any other thoughts on the subject. Maybe they thought it was a particularly good question, that the askvilleites would enjoy answering. Or maybe they're just lazy and its easier to recycle than to think of new questions.
I can see how it might bother some people, but I guess it doesn't bother me (yet) because I don't PLAN on visiting to another similar website.... Of course, I didn't PLAN to spend so much time here, either! .
I haven't a clue! But, I'm willing to make an educated guess or two, if that will help you. My conclusions are : The questions probably weren't answered on the other sites with the information that the questioner needed, so they were recycled.
Or, The questioner is obsessed with the subject. Or, The questioner is trying to rack up Quest Points and that is good way of doing it! You are spending too much time online if you are noticing these things.

Recycling Questions Askville--we’re Green! We’re recycling! I really don’t have a problem with the "recycling" of questions here at Askville.
It would be different if we were runnnig out of space (in the Askville landfill of closed questions) or if each person was limited to so many questions per day (rationing), but there is plenty of green space here in Askville and alot of people ready, willing, and able to do their part in the greening and the smartening of America--and the world! I’m sure you are probably noticing it in the "thought provoking" type questions. Even though you might have seen them on other sites, it doesn’t mean that the person there thought of the question, either, I’m afraid.
There are books and websites with "conversation starter" type questions that list this kind of question--and who knows where they got them! And many of us don't go to the other sites, so they might be new to us. The more fun and thought provoking questions on here, the better.
The ones we don’t like or are tired of seeing (hey, what are those Quest coins for, anyway? ) we can easily ignore, or put in the dumpster with the non-recycleable old tennis shoes and the old Pampers.... *Poppet*'s Recommendations Recycle Bin Amazon List Price: $16.98 Used from: $64.99 Average Customer Rating: 4.5 out of 5 (based on 2 reviews) .

A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
