Yeah, neither side really wants to solve the issue of rounding up these people and sending them back home. Republicans can claim that they are strong on immigration all they want, when really they are just as complicit as democrats that see these illegals and their families as nothing more than a voting block that cant be alienated. At the end of the day, not a damn thing will be done about it.
I could drive my truck around town today, and at the end of it I could easily have at least 10/day in the back of the truck if I had the authority to detain them and drop them off at INS.
You are definitely being very narrow minded here. Something like this is not just as simple as "erradicate all the illegals and all our problems would be fixed." You should think outside the box a little more...Consider the fact that most of the jobs that illegal immigrants have are not the high profile jobs that most people who collect unemployed are seeking.
For instance, a major market firm declares bankruptcy and has to terminate most of its employees, therefore they are going to be drawing unemployment. Those people are not willing to equip themselves with a lawnmower or hammer and start doing manual labor all the sudden. And as for the food stamps and welfare...lets be real, we all know that illegal Mexican immigrants are not the majority of the people benefiting from that either.
Understandibly they do account for a small percentage of both of these numbers, but it is definitely an unfair claim to say we would have 8 million jobs and zero debt if they were to be deported. And the response about Obama losing his voting base...REALLY!? Since when have illegal immigrants been allowed to vote?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
