Politicians speak in vague generalities. They will have to define exactly what they mean by an assault weapon. If they can do that without violating the Constitution or any laws, then more power to them.
Government does have the power to regulate weapons. I just do not understand why people claim they have never seen an assault weapon. I have actually used assault weapons, handguns, rifles and shotguns.
Most Americans military vets have some where while on duty or training. So it is just plain silly to say they do not exist. There is one thing we should all have in common: to do something to try to reduce the these senseless mass murders.
The positive thing to do is to support ways to accomplish this. Not just sit around claiming the government is gonna come get your guns and act like your a victim.
If we went down to what we need we would have food and water. The ban at this point I think will fail. My state just made it illegal for lee enforcement officers to enforce federal gun laws.
If they can legalize pot in individual states even though it's federally illegal they can do this. We had a ban in the 90s. It was not such a big deal but now an assault rifle is fairly comon for colectors and enthusiasts.
Banning them makes for all kinds of truble because they are more accepted.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
