Why are designers making high-heels so high we cannot walk in them?

Designers design according to the pulse of the youth market. I see many young women wearing them and they assure they are comfortable. This may be true for some, at least for the short term.In the long term, they may look back with regret.

Relache hit it dead on. They make them, because people buy them . If people only bought the shoes that were comfortable, the designers would have to change their designs.

I suppose if you're going to get caught up in keeping up with fashion, you have to sacrifice comfort.

Forget wearing knee high heels. Give me flip flops any day of the week!

They look cute, but I'm too afraid I'd roll my ankle or something. That does seem to be mostly what it available. Really high heels with a pointy heel.

I just don't buy them. Stick with shoes that are good for your feet. You'll be glad you did in the long run.

I have to go along with the answer about satisfying the market. I was not aware until recently, however, that cosmetic foot surgery to narrow feet by shaving bones or make them smaller by shortening toes is on the rise - even in tough economic times. Wearing high heels is one thing but this is something else.As a guy I must be honest and admit that high heels are sexy looking but I'd rather they went away if this is the cost.

Here's an article I wrote about the cosmetic foot surgery phenomenon. ezinearticles.com/?gh-Heel-Health-jinks.

Well, coming from a girl that *adores* high heels, especially stilettos, I think they are making them that way because, like said by earlier posters, they are being bought. I love my high heels, and they are pretty much all I wear. I have a pair of 6 inchers that I love, and wear often.

But there are plenty of shoes out there that are not as high. Or expensive. Payless ShoeSource is one of my favorites stores to go to.

They have great heels at low prices, and the quality is great. And most- if not all- of their heels are 4.5 inches or less. And so cute.

I think most of those shoes are designed to be worn on a rare occasion, like a birth day party or sth. I can't imagine wearing them to the office or out running errands. Having said that, I own a lot of high heel shoes and try to wear them as often as I can.

Sometimes all the pain that comes with wearing them is absolutely worth it!

I'm sure theres plenty of reasons, but from what I gather it's both a combination of fashion and art. You can always find these two genres walking hand and hand. So, if it doesn't look good, then chances are it won't make a good statement.

If it does, however, provide a positive visual statement, then that's all that matters.

Unfortunately, it's not about showing how comfortable you are to the audience, it's about how confident and ravishing you look to them. Wish I could provide more of an answer, but as a guy I can only say so much :S.

Because they look good on a model, you see models is gotta have long legs, and theese very high-heels make their legs look longer:D.

They want to make women feel tall, slim and pretty. But are definitely difficult to wear. Probably, you can find comfortable shoes with high heels.

Just browse online ortake a look at my hubs.

Perhaps is the lack of a good marketing research. If the designers were to research a good sample of their target audience, they would be astonished to find out that what they offer and what most women really want is almost entirely opposite.

I for one, would like classic comfortable shoes, not too high, not too low, but very, very elegant. And since we are on the subject, I would also like to see designers present a line of elegant, affordable, and classic business attires as well as the famous little black dress, but all of this for my body frame, not for a body frame that is all bones and with a perfect height. I am petite, heavy set and just cannot find a business atttire that fits me, and that flatters my body shape.

Designers' pieces are too long and too tight for me, thus an elegant suite looks too long and too wide for my body frame, or it looks as if my little sister let me borrow it.

A good marketing research would project realistic expectations from any given target audience.

Maybe they want people to look high and be in the fashion and they want people to look cool.

Those things throw off your balance and hurt your feet as well. I just made a website about earth spirit shoes, which are designed to help you feel comfortable and look trendy at the same time. Here is some info on them earthspiritshoes.org/earth-spirit-womens-sh.

Well honestly, some of us can walk in them.

You have to be young with sturdy ankles and you have to be used to wearing them.

Alas, all I can do is smile and sigh wistfully at some of these heels.

Just choose the one fit for u, there are many people can walk in with the very high heels.

Bcuz the designers r trying 2 make you jelous dat you cnt wear them and the models can. If you ask me, the models look stupid.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
