Why are liberals so intent on controlling everyone but themselves?

No, it's not just you. But it's not just liberals wanting to control what we do, or thinking they know better than anyone else. We have laws that protect, but then we have A LOT of laws that simply limit our freedoms.

The key is keeping the ones that protect us without limiting our freedoms as guaranteed in our Constitution, and abolishing the ones designed to keep us under government control. On the topic of abortion: most conservatives and libertarians don't wish to abolish abortion rights, but they don't want "partial birth abortion" to be legal. I have NEVER heard a good medical reason that it would be safer for a woman to give birth to a dead baby than a live one.

The government should keep it's nose out of who marries whom. Marriage should be a church-regulated institution, with anything else being a civil union. The terminology isn't important, we could have "religious marriages" and "secular marriages" if you like.

Really, the government only gets involved if a union is terminated. "bob"- I just have to laugh at the idea that we shouldn't "determine how much government regulation is necessary". That's the stance of the stereotypical liberal "sheep"!

Baaa, how dare we think we have the brains to determine how much we want to be controlled, baaa? Just because some think the government should be all-powerful doesn't mean it should be, and that's not the ideal our forefathers fought and died for. "bob"-Do you really believe the Obama administration is on it's way to getting our finances under control?

Let's see you get your personal finances under control by giving away all your money, and that of all your friends while you're at it. It's funny how anything anti-liberal-government is "right wing propaganda", while the left-wing garbage is all well and good. Get some brains, people, and start thinking for yourselves!

Those of you who want to live under hosts of government restrictions, I propose you move to another country and leave ours as free as possible.

Who is it that wants to determine how much government regulation is necessary? Who are the two presidents that oversaw the biggest government growth in the history of the US.....Reagan and Bush. It isn't just you.

There are a lot of misinformed conservatives out there and a whole lot of conservative spin doctors filling you with this misinformation. Things like allowing corporations to run your life makes you "freer" and regulation is the same as Marxism. What we need to get our "finances" in order is to return to a country with an economically strong and educated middle class.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
