Why are Muslim women punished for being raped? I JUST DONT GET IT?

Yes, according to Islamic law the male perpetrator should definitely be punished. It can be as serious as stoning to death, depending on the circumstances. Rape is a very serious crime in Islam and is not acceptable at all.

Someone who follows Islam properly would never rape anybody. But because of the laws about women having to dress and act modestly, some people twist it so as to blame women for being raped. It's important to recognise that although there are laws in Islam strongly prohibiting rape, judges and legal systems interpret the law in different ways.

Some of the people who make the judgements or pass the laws are extremely sexist and conservative, so the law ends up being worse than what it actually says in the Quran. Remember also that every Muslim country is different and have different interpretations of Islamic and secular law. So for example, Indonesia or Turkey might treat the case quite different to more hardline countries like Pakistan or Saudi Arabia.

If anything, he will be punished by his own soul, if he has one. He may face emotional torment for the rest of his life that he may attribute to the rape. Lucky for him, he may not live long enough to see that.

You see, in a traditional Muslim society, which highly values loyalty and community, such a man may be attacked and killed without provocation soon after the rape. So the options are: Jail, being killed in the street, emotional torture and (extremely unlikely) nothing. It is absolutely not socially acceptable.

In fact, it's as socially acceptable there as it is here...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
