Why are the majority of serial killers and murderers very religious?

Being "religious" simply means that you are completely devoted to a state of mind or idea, whether or not it is rational. So, it isn't much of a surprise that most of these people have brainwashed themselves into believing some far-out fantasy. If you could compile a list of the specific religions, then you might be able to draw a conclusion.

Otherwise, we're all religious in one way or another.

I hope this isn't taken the wrong way. But I've noticed that the truly insane and the truly religioius usually have a lot in common.

Maplethorpej said it pretty well, its a state of mind or idea. Yes, so far all the ones that I have read about are religious before they commit murder. Somewhere along the way, wires get crossed and they believe what they are doing is the right thing to do.

I don't think they even have thoughts of right or wrong. Maybe a voice told them to do it and they interpret it as a heavenly voice. Will give you a more factual answer as soon as I can.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
