Why are there different diameters of welding rods?

Welding rods come in different sizes. The size of the rod determines how much amperage (current), or electricity, it can handle. Smaller diameter rods work with less current and are used on thinner metals.

As the diameter of the rod increases, so does the amount of amperage it can handle, and the thickness of metal it can weld.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
