I wonder the same thing. We have people like Oprah opening schools in Africa when our own schools are sh it. Angelina Jolie and the others adopting foreign babies while the poor abandoned kids in the US have to live through orphanages or whatever.
Etc. , etc. It makes no sense to me.
I think you may have them confused with Pakistan. Look, you have a point that Haiti was in a bad economic place before the earthquake, and that's a long term issue that they have to deal with. But no matter how good your economy is, you cannot be completely prepared for a disaster of this magnitude, so the rest of us try to do our best to help them get at least some kind of organized infrastructure in place to help feed, clothe, and shelter the survivors, to search for missing people, and to help rebuild some of what was lost.
And its not just the US that does this. Mexico sent some help to us following Hurricane Katrina.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
