Why aren't people with Species Dysphoria accepted like people with Gender Dysphoria?

This is something that I have been pondering for a long time and I have come to the following conclusion. Please read they whole way through this as I will try to make this as balanced as an answer as possible. Firstly, I would like to state that I'm not speaking for the whole of either the transgender community (gender dysphoria) nor am I speaking for the whole of the otherkin community (species dysphoria).

What I am saying comes from my own experience and what I have seen in both communities. That being said I would like to point out that I do identify as part of both groups, I am genderfluid and a wolf otherkin. One of the things I have noticed when people say this is that that don't seem to realize that trans* identities are not all that accepted.

Trans* identities are listed in medical books, that does make them slightly more accepted there. However there are medical therapist who do not accept trans* identities, as well as others in the medical field who do not accept these identities. Acceptance by the public for trans* identities is far lower than many people realize.

I have even see non acceptance for trans* people within the LGBT. Whereas there is nothing in medical book currently for otherkin or species dysphoria there are groups trying to fix that and get it listed. There are also therapists that will accept otherkin as a valid identity, so long as said person is actually experiencing dysphoria and not some sort of mental illness.

Acceptance by the public of other kin is indeed lower than that of trans* acceptance. I believe that this is due to the fact that society is still trying to understand how someone could not feel comfortable with their gender. I also believe that it is due to many otherkin having a lack in ability to explain properly what exactly species dysphoria is.

As well as many people who claim to be otherkin are either children trying to roleplay, trolls attempting to give the community a bad name, or someone experiencing some sort of mental illness. I have spent many years in online otherkin communities and left them, because most of the online 'otherkin' fall into one of the aforementioned groups. People who truly are otherkin are hard to find online.

Something else that I would like to point out about otherkin, it isn't a continuous experience of dysphoria like being transgender causes. It flows from no dysphoria to extreme dysphoria, similarly to being genderfluid. Overall neither of the two really are all that accepted.

Please try to understand the other community before making assumptions.

They are not even close to the same thing. Being a man or a woman is within human experience and is being what is natural for humans. In transsexualism, you are becoming more like what you already are.

If you have the nature of a woman and you were supposed to be born with a vagina, but were robbed of that, then you are still a woman. It is not natural for a human to feel like a dog, cat, duck, or whatever. A female human is still a human, but a pet or farm animal is not.

Another thing that people want to compare with transsexualism is an amputation fetish, or other forms of body dimorphism. Nobody is supposed to be born handicapped, but many are supposed to be born women or men. Undoubtedly, there are some who probably would feel more comfortable with themselves in a more handicapped state.

But that is not the typical or expected state of things, and likely has very little if any biological basis. Nor is transsexualism the same as cosmetic surgery addiction or not accepting oneself. When it comes to their surgeries, there is an end point in which they become satisfied enough to function in society without preoccupation with their body.

The reason they get surgeries is because they accept the real person inside and have a reasonable vision for what they should be like.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
