Allen didn't check to see what gender you are before he automatically assumed you for an electric guitar person. While lessons, even cheap group lessons are a better way to go, I'm with Tony, I'm of the 60's70's generation and Mel Bay Guitar Method books were our main resource. Learn how to tune it without a digital tuner. Learn to match pitches with an E note on a piano or other guitar player and use the 5th fret tuning method, that way you won't be dependent on a little box to help you tune the guitar.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
