Why can't I create a “small” Basic 64-bit Amazon Linux EC2 on AWS? [closed]?

Currently Small only supports 32 bit operating systems. Change your AMI selection to something 32-bit based and small will then be an option.

1 As for why small only supports 32 bit but micro can handle 64 bit, that's a question I've often wondered myself. Having created my own 64 bit AMI for testing on micro, then moving to small I had to totally recreate the image from scratch, which is just lame. – digitaljoel Nov 9 at 17:50 Agreed... I'd have to change the way I've been building stuff on micro.Sigh.

– Dave Nov 9 at 17:52 My suspicion is that the micro instances run on spare cycles on the large hardware whereas the small instances run on their own set of horribly under-powered hardware. In my experience, the micro instance was considerably faster, but the memory constraint was way too small for me to go into production with a spring based java app. – digitaljoel Nov 9 at 18:11.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
