Why did USA drop an atomic bomb in Japan?

Bad move The Allies wouldn't have been able to successfully invade France in 1944 and Italy in 1943 without help from the United States we just didn't have the troops to do it the Soviet Union was begging the allies to open up a second front to relieve some of the pressure on them they were in real trouble. If Hitler won in the Soviet Union and didn't make the mistakes that he did Hitler would have turned all his attention and focus back to invading Britain with even more troops and resources available to him which would have made an invasion a go and if the Nazi's were successful? They would have gone after Canada the United States would have to rush and help Canada fight off a monstrous Nazi invasion off our coast with the Japanese fleets and troops freed up to invade and attack the U.S. and Canada from the other direction not good.

The Nazi's and Japanese would have coordinated with the goal of linking up their armies. Staying out of the war in Europe might have also given the Nazi's the time and resources needed to build and test an atomic bomb first.

USA did concentrate more heavily in the Pacific Theatre. They knew USSR could crush Germany, USA's presence in Europe helped bring the war to an end much faster. They also didn't want Russia to have too much control on Europe after the War.

But, to answer your question, 'What if US concentrated on Japan alone?' Many historians believe USSR could deal with Germany by itself. Russia's production and man-power was 10x that of Germany. Germany was stretched out and had to deal with insurrection and threat from afrika and the uk.

It might of taken much longer but USSR could of dealt with Germany by itself.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
