This is something new. I think it is a great thing. Before now, if someone Googled your subject the first couple sentences of your Hub would come up along with your link.
Now, your summary will come up instead. I've got 236 summaries to write but I am glad to do it because I think my 2 or 3 sentence summaries will make more people click on my HubPages article, not less.
Go to "My Account" from the right hand top of the page and select "edit" on your Hub (one Hub at a time).
On the right hand side of the page you will see 3 boxes.
Go to the 3rd box that has "reorder, tags, settings, SUMMARY, and group".
Click on "SUMMARY" and then you can type a unique summary of what your article is about.
When you are done, be sure to click "Done Editing" at the top of the page.
Any Hub that has an "A" after it in your statistics/my account page, means that you need to add a summary. You will need to repeat these steps for each Hub that you have published.
I hadn't noticed the summary before so have started to write them . I would like to know where my followers have gone?
I just finished my 61 summaries, and the process allowed me to do some editing while I was at it. It does make sense to write a couple of blurbs if you want more exposure. Hope it works.
I just realized this - - how naive of me! I forgot that Google like snippets of information to categorize how something will be listed. I will make / refine my summaries!
The option to add "summary" was already there for a long time. It is only now that HubPages has added the "A" notification for missing summary. Summary acts as meta description - Google loves them.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
