I have no respect for him because although he was a rather good predictor of the problems of unchecked Capitalism, his ego would not let him give ANY other possible outcome but a "spontaneous" uprising of the Proletariat, which has never occurred, ever, in any Communist movement. It has always been artificial, professional agitators, "Vanguard Proletariat". The man came from serious wealth.
Never really held a "real" job, and spent his life telling people he knew nothing about, how they should think and live. His ideas and ideals were devoid of the variables of human nature. He also had NO intention of living by the rules and austerity called for in his social model.
Intelligent guy, self important, and an ego that blinded him to the possible downsides or problematic aspects of it. I became a conservative by reading Marx.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
