Why do anticyclones cause air-pollution problems?

Anti-cyclones entrap pollution particles! They have quite an impact on surface conditions because they take up a lot of air space as they move downwards over an area. Their descent encourages evaporation as well as pressure and temperature rises, but discourages cloud formation, rainfall and surface to lower atmospheric air movement.

Pollution particles therefore become trapped between the earth's surface and the lower atmospheric limits of the anti-cyclone. At the earliest, if even that, they will not move until the anti-cyclone does.

Yes, it is because of the downward move of air. It's good to know how things are "connected" to each other, isn't it?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
