Why do Democrats claim to oppose taxing the poor yet support higher taxes for beer, cigarettes, and gas?

Sales taxes disproportionately affect the poor. Rich people may wear better clothes, but they only wear one pair of pants at a time. The rich use the courts in civil matters far more often than the poor.

They live in larger properties using more public services subsidised by the state including fire and police. States with no income tax but high sales taxes are targeting the poor to pay a disproportional amount for the services received.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
