A guitarist will use a pick as opposed to his / her thumb because of the timbre/tonal quality of he note produced. What is meant by the timbre/tonal quality of the note? This means - does the note sound "bright"?
Is it loud and clear? Does it have any "squeals" or overtones ( little added notes)? When you play a guitar , other than the actual note being played you want "color" and "variance" in the sound.
Maybe you want to make the guitar sound like its whispering the melody, you play with the flesh part of your thumb. Maybe you want a loud angry sound, you use the pick to scrape the strings. A pick can bring out many sounds that you wouldn't get out of using your thumb, but, your thumb can get sounds you wouldn't get from a pick.
Playing with your thumb ( and fingers )can get a softer more subtle sound. In conclusion I would say to you, what type of music do you like to play? What sounds do you like?
Go from there and you will have a better choice . Personally I play with both the pick and the thumb. I play different styles, rock, blues , classical, jazz , all have their use for the pick or the thumb. So I would say both are as good as each other!
PS. Again if you play electric guitar, blues, rock, etc , the pick is the usual way to go. If you are playing classical - no pick for you my friend!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
