Why do hamsters get diarrhea and how do you cure it?

Diarrhea can be caused by a few reasons. Feeding it too many fresh vegetables and fruits could cause it. Any sudden dietary change could cause it, as well as stress.

Water bottles that aren't cleaned right and have green algae can also cause diarrhea. A diet of dry grains, burned toast, and lots of clean water should do the trick. A disease is always a possibility, so if after a few days it doesn't clear up, see a vet.

And fresh fruits and vegetables can be fed two or three days after the conditions cease. I usually wait a week, just to be safe.
