Why do Hindu worship Elephants and Monkeys?

Knowing why you are worshipping and the proper way to worship any Deity is always good. The physical representation of Lord Ganesha has some meaning. My interpretation is that the elephant head on a human body resembles AUM kara of the sanskrit Devanagari script and Lord Ganesha is known to be AUM kara himself.

The grand fashion these days in which Lord Ganesha is celebrated well who can blame him if he is popular among people of many faiths and sects and it is also because worshiping Lord Ganesha by groups was used as a means of national integration during the independence movement where youth would form groups have a Lord Ganesha's idol installed in their locality and people would congregate. The gold he wears and 40 % poor. I agree the poverty in India is huge and the economic divide is also quite appalling.

Right now I don't have much understanding about all the gold in all of the temples of India is serving some purpose or its just lying idle. If you really want to know more about these mass delusion as you call it go to some learned Pundit and learn what makes so many people celebrate these beings. The thing is all the worshiping is supervised and directed by these learned people.

They are the ones who know the inner meaning, the significance, the proper ways of rituals and also other seekers of knowledge know.

I think you need to mind your own business. Contrary to popular belief, Hindu's don't worship animals. They pay respect to it for their own justified reasons.

Cows provide milk--a nutrious beverage, hence the respect. They believe in ONE God, but they also believe that God has many different forms/versions, hence the many different versions (or multi-Gods). You are entitled to your beliefs, but unless you have studied both Hinduism and Christianity in extreme detail, you have no right to form such a negative judgement.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
