Why do I get quadratic time sorting using STL sort()?

Std::sort takes its predicate by value meaning.

A map is already sorted. Std::sort is probably based on Quicksort, whose worst-case performance is when the input is pre-sorted.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
