The way I see it, the word homophobe only applies to those who try forcing heterosexuality on others, or actively discriminate against gay people. Sure it's odd that you are discomforted by people acting gay, but you can't help it if that's how you feel. Plus, the fact you're concerned with the possibility of hurting anyone says a lot about you.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
