I think I will just state a few facts, and then allow you to think about what they mean. Mexico is a country. It is a nation.
If you are a citizen of Mexico, you are Mexican. That is called nationality. Then there is race.
That is biological, but also argued by leading geneticists. It is a fact that there is more variation genetically within a race, than between races. A fine way to think is that we are all Homo Sapiens.
Then there is ethnicity and culture. Latino or Hispanic has had difficulty resolving as a race or ethnic group. There is more of a tendency to consider it ethnic now.
That is a social characteristic. And there is religious affiliations. Within all this, your genetic background is probably European, but likely a mix over time.
I have a very good friend who's father has an Irish caucasian heritage, and mother was born in Mexico and has a Latino heritage, and he was born in the United States, so he is an American. We don't need labels unless you want to associate with a group of the same label. I don't want to provide a very long explanation and discussion of each term, since it is better that you research the differences that you decide have importance to you.
I can ask some puzzling questions and maybe that will lead to your answer. When a Caucasian moves to China and becomes a citizen, is he Asian? He is certainly Chinese.
If an Asian studies and practices Judaism, and then moves to Mexico, does he become a Latino? Are there Black people living in Ireland? View the Melanesians: http://www.omg-facts.com/Science/Melanes... They are a fine group of people.
What is their race? Does it matter?
Mexican is a nationality and not a specific race.In Mexico there exists White Mexicans,Mestizo Mexicans,Amerindian Mexicans,Multiracial Mexicans,Black Mexicans,Asian Mexicans.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
