Why do most people travel to Eugene, Oregon?

The majority of the tourism in Eugene comes from the large university. As the main campus for the University of Oregon, many people cycle through the area to visit students or attend sporting events in the region. People also come through for the Oregon Country Fair in the summertime, but mostly it is still people who are in some way affiliated with the school.

There are a number of events such as comedy shows, concerts, and sports competitions that happen on the campus. The track and field trials prior to the last Olympics were held in Eugene. The area is also popular for those who like to white water raft or hike.

There are a number of places surrounding Eugene where you can enjoy the outdoors. Some people prefer to stay in the comfort of town and take day trips out to the woods.
