It largely depends on how that "stricter control" comes into being... ....if it follows the established path by which every other law must qualify, then our tradition where the Rule of Law reigns supreme is still in tact.... ....if it comes by State mandate or is fast-tracked around the established process by special interests... then a little piece of American Democracy dies...
It would not be realistic to believe that our police and military would turn on the population that rebelled against a tyrannical government. It would be realistic that the police and federal authorities would use fairly strong measures short of deadly force to pacify a totally unarmed public.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
