Why do people say that the Yahoo Answers Team doesn't have to obey the site rules?

Many people will assign this sort of question to the "chatting" category and report, report, report, report accordingly. I don't know why they're driven to do this, beyond perhaps having a bit of OCPD or just being bullies. It is otherwise a harmless question and yours is a good answer.

Isn't that what Yahoo Answers, a "community," should be about? Helping people instead of reporting them? Alas, for way too many Reporting Avengers, it is about some sort of adherence to "the rules," which are frequently vague and arbitrary.

There is, for example, a link in the Community Guidelines that admonishes a person to not chat. Https://help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN8196.html?i... But on the other hand there is this page in the Yahoo Answers Help section that says "In Yahoo Answers, YOU CAN ASK ABOUT ANYTHING UNDER THE SUN emphasis added, including the sun, and get answers from real people." Https://help.yahoo.com/kb/answers/questi... That page alone would sure seem to permit the question you answered...wouldn't it?

As part of their rush to thumbs down this answer, perhaps the Reporting Avengers could clarify their thinking on this in the Comments section. My advice comes in two parts: 1. Pick the questions you want to answer, answer them sincerely, and hopefully you'll have helped someone before some Reporting Avenger decides to virtuously report whatever it is they feel needs to be so righteously reported.

2. Remember it's Yahoo Answers. That's all it is.

You can earn points and you can get points taken away...but the points are meaningless. Good luck.

Usually it's the asker who reports all answers they don't like. I get reported all the time answering modeling questions Even if someone asks if they can be a VS model at 5'5" and I link then to the application for the last open call saying you need to be minimum 5'8" to apply they still report me.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
