The so called "War on Drugs" is nothing but a dog and pony show from the US government. The small time dealers are sent to prison for years, but their suppliers are "unknown" and not prosecuted. Oh, wait, they are most likely illegal immigrants and... I'll stop right there.
Parents and grands need to keep up, or sometimes look back on what they did to get that OTC high. Look for those signs in your children or grands. How much cough syrup does one teen need?
How much hairspray does that girl need? How much do you need to clean your keyboard with those five cans of "air"? The thing is, if you don't speak up with the truth from your own experiences, then how can anyone learn from it!?
Yes e ma The situation in Singapore is in control to some extent because of the small enclosed nature of the country . But for USA its not so easy as you have have thousands of miles of borders and coasts . I lean towards a solution suggested in UK back in the late 60s that the govt should buy and sell on all the drugs used , as they could buy them at normal commercial prices .
OK the addicts would still get their drugs , but they get the now anyhow and make the drug runners wealthy. Whilst committing crimes to pay for the drugs. This would cost no more than the war on drugs and keep the drugs clean .
It would also stop the high crime associated with drugs . And the druggies would have to register as users too get the cheap drugs ,so at least we might get some of them clean eventually . Those that don't want to stop will eventually kill themselves from the habit , and we at least would put the drug barons out of Business.
There was a tentative program like this run in London , with the junkies queing for their stash in the early morning at a govt chemists just of one of the London squares. Don't know what happened to this program since though. Sounds as though some USA police have big stocks stashed away, must be for personal use maybe.
Ho ho ho.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
