A lot of the old pages were created with lowercase letters. In the old system, if you searched for a term with lower case letters, and then created the page for it, it would have lowercase letters. The only way to get caps was to do your search using the correct capitalization and then creating the page.It looks like even new pages are going through with lowercase letters at times, but QC members and staff are able to fix these things very easily.
I'll fix your page titles that are lowercase now. As far as accents go, I'm not sure how that effects searches. I have noticed that having special character marks often causes problems for Mahalo internal links.
For example if you use certain marks like! In double brackets it will not make a link.
The unimportant parts of a title such as by, the, if are in lowercase because uppercasing them would create an emphasis on words that do not need such emphasizing. I find when doing a search, always do it in lowercase seeing as when you do so it finds a more broad spectrum of search hits. DO NOT use ' " in your search seeing as this is code that most search engines will interpret as a different word, or seprate words.
That's a good question. To my knowledge, search engines aren't case sensitive. As far as accents go, if you use keywords embeded in your website page HTML you could try both "cafe" and "café".
Am important thing to remember is that Unicode is quickly replacing all of the other charsets (character sets). Some exceptions may include Shift-JIS and those of other monolingual website schemes. But with Unicode you can feature virtually ANY/ALL languages in your code.
The reason this is important is that the character for "e acute" ought to be UTF-8 if possible. That way, you won't have to worry about codings. Besides, to my awareness, Google uses UTF-8 in their search methods.
I personally find the lower-case pagenames looking very awkward. It doesn't fit with the general style of Mahalo, it sorts bad on my 'managed pages' list, and I think it looks unprofessional. It doesn't get fixed automatically, but if you send a mail to [email protected], staff will fix it for you quickly.
This applies to most errors (having too many google ad sections, which you cannot delete yourself), except for page renaming, as that messes up the links to Google and some Mahalo inner workings. Staff is very responsive to this, and usually fixes it within 24 hours (but usually faster).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
