1 Thousands of new books are published each month. Trying to get noticed just because your book is cheaper in paperback is, if anything, counterproductive. People pay more attention to the more expensive items.

Your paperback is just one of many, many, many. Instead, they sell the hardcovers at a premium price, and try to drum up interest in it with advertising, book tours, and trying to convince bookstores to display it more prominently. When you've got them interested, make them pay the higher price.

4 Hardcover books for me are the best. I'd rather pay a little extra for hardcover and enjoy the larger print and in some cases the hardcovers may contain illustrations that the soft cover does not. I am a Stephen King fan and in the Dark Tower Series there are many drawing illustrations by artists which will become collector's items after King dies.

Right now there are hardcover comic book style books being sold of the same Dark Tower Series of which I own one (the first)"Gunslinger Born" and two more on the way from, you guessed it= Amazon. Com,however the sequence of the story is not the same as the original story.
