Why do think the worlds populations insists on focusing on everything negative in our societies?

Most of the information people get is from the media. Have you ever measured the percentage of positive news as compared to negative news on, for instance a tv news program? With gloom and doom filling the airways, it is impossible to very difficult to find the silver lining within the dark cloud.

I think what you mean is that the world's MASS MEDIA only pays attention to what is negative in our societies. Mass Media is unofficially a subversive part of global government, and the goal of global government is to sell FEAR.

Government wants YOU to be scared so that YOU are willing to give up YOUR rights for protection.

But it's government that you most need protection against.

Because Governments, Religion and mass media have lulled the population into willingly accepting (without hesitation) the 'human condition' - it is a power/control thing - fear is the biggest motivator....

Until we realize that we are part of a bigger picture than the one currently shown to us, we will continue living under such oppression.

Because fear makes money better then any other emotion.

Please blame it on the media. It is bombarding us round-the-clock with "news" -- talking about murders, wars, conflicts, silly gossips. In fact, media reporting has simply trivialized human suffering. It affects us and our minds and how we think.

It is a blatant misuse of freedom of speech.

World will be similar to heaven IF ONLY someone bans negative reporting in media. It should only be allowed to talk of positive activities, good deeds of people, scientific discoveries with positive implications, how someone saved a life, how a hard-core politician did not lie, how someone did not cheat his wife, how someone helped a neighbor, and so on. It should focus on good work of NGOs helping the needy and poor around the world. It should talk ONLY of lives they saved rather than people murdered by NATO or some suicide bomber.

If you are too troubled by negativity around you, please meditate and cleans your mind of the negative garbage. Take at least two off days from the media every week and ultimately drive negative talkers out of your life.

We are designed to protect our lives. It's called the availability heuristic in cognitive science. We treat perceived risk and danger as though it will directly impact us.

For example, some people won't fly after seeing a plain crash on tv. They'd rather take the car, even though statistically driving is far more dangerous and deadly than flying.

Some parts of the brain can't tell the difference between what's going on what we tell it is going on or what it sees.

That's why self-talk style is so powerful. When we watch tv and movies, part of our brain thinks that we live in the environment we're watching. Those sit com people are our friends.

The media focuses on the negative because we are designed to hone in on and self-protect from danger. Problem is, media danger usually doesn't impact our lives directly. But tell that to your brain.

We, as humans, seem to be hardwired for fear and negativity. Fear breeds fear, greed breeds greed, negativity breeds negativity. When we decide to stop being creatures who run on an ego software and choose a self software, we are capable of amazingly positive things.

But, we like to have the ego in charge, running those negative thoughts. It comforts us somehow and keeps us in our cozy places of unhappiness. Misery loves company, and it seems our egos want us to keep them company.

Also, we often misinterpret hindrances, which are opportunities for creative solutions, growth and learning as unconquerable obstacles. Just more fear.

I think it depends on the person. Some people only focus on the negative that is around them while others see the positives. I also don’t think focusing on the negatives is a bad thing if it’s done constructively.

Focusing on negatives is okay if it leads to change.

Our world would very different if our governments & society would abolish all 'out-dated' political & religious themes that unfortunately perpetuates the 'roller coaster' news & views of our society.

This question reminds me of the saying - Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Just replace the word beauty with negativity.

All change is painful - positive to negative as well as negative to positive. The question is in what direction do we want to go from where we are in our personal life as well as our life as a group of people.

Best everything in the news is sensationalized.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
