They do do mostly dirty or low-paid jobs that employers would otherwise have a hard time filling--farm labor, janitorial work, etc. But they also do some jobs that would otherwise be better paid, like construction and restaurant work. The Republicans make a big issue out of illegal aliens to suit their own purposes. They are pandering to xenophobic, nativist people, who are a major demographic of the Republicans.
This is why cynical politicians in Arizona passed that stupid law, -knowing- it wouldn't stand the test of judicial review. It just allows them to -posture- intolerant and racist. And when judges overturn the law they can then whine that our courts are too 'liberal'.
This is why we've heard a whole string of obvious and outrageous lies from them about people being beheaded in the desert, all illegals being drug 'mules', and Mexico planning to take back the Southwest US. But in fact the Republican Party LOVES illegal immigrants, just because they work cheap. A large, ready pool of ready immigrant labor holds down wages for ALL workers.
And there is no higher value in the GOP than cheap labor!
Yeah, I have seen many lazy Americans who rather not be maids, pick fruits, constructions, clean homes. Just complained about their predicaments. Many rather lived on the streets for years and go from town to town eating at missions one meal a day to exist.
I have seen this in my own home town. Lazy Lazy people who will never do those jobs and rather look for high paying jobs and will never bend down to a lower level. Quit bitching and get a low paying job and see how rough life really is.
I have done those low paying jobs and know what a hard life is.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
