I agree with you completely. I am 100% white and my ancestors were here at the time that slavery was going on but they did not believe that it was right to treat anyone that way so they did not have slaves on their farm. They did have a bunch of people doing the work for free but it was their children and family.
I do not understand prejudice people and do not treat anyone different than anyone else. I don't care if a person is black, white, tall, short, fat, thin, ugly or not because I truly believe everyone is born beautiful inside and learn to be the way they become by how they are raised. Luckily I was raised to treat everyone as I would like to be treated and if everyone else would do the same the world would be a lot better place to live.
If we could put the past behind us and look to the future we can make the world a better place for our children. Hope I have been helpful.
In the ancient countries you mentioned in history people were not enslaved because of the colour of their skins. Americans were enslaving blacks because of the colour of their skins. Slavery in US was existing even before than emergence of the blacks in US.
But it was impossible to trace these white slaves to capture them when they run away as they could easily evaporate in the American population. But this was not the case for blacks. It was easy to capture black slaves when they run away as the colour of their skins could be distinguished from the others.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
